About me

I was born and grew up in Belgium, where I started my philosophy studies.  After two years of studying at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), I pursued my studies by spending a year in Berlin as an Erasmus student (the student exchange programme of the EU).  I then obtained a Fellowship by the BAEF (Belgian American Educational Foundation) and was admitted to the Ph.D programme in Philosophy at Washington University in Saint Louis, USA.   After spending more than three years completing the Ph.D. requirements at Washington University, I reached the conclusion my research project needed a different intellectual environment and made the important decision to return to Europe in 2004, only to resume my doctoral project at the University of Paris VIII.  I obtained my doctorate in 2011, and have been living in Paris since then.

Throughout the years I have taught philosophy in a variety of contexts, both at the level of higher and secondary education (in France philosophy is also taught in high school), in both English and French, and have also been professionally active teaching English.
